Glucosamine is found mainly in joints and connective tissue and is essential for cartilage maintenance and repair. It helps sustain joint mobility, suppleness and elasticity of tendons, ligaments and connective tissues.

Connective tissue that make up the spinal discs, ligaments, cartilage and tendons between the
joints are constantly being repaired and renewed to keep them in optimum condition. The body does this by complex chemical processes using substances such as collagen and glucosaminoglycines. Glucosamine is one of the active constituents that help to make up the glucosaminoglycines. Consequently the rate or repair of tissue damage to the body is governed by the rate of formation of glucosaminoglycmes.
