Contains Guaifenesin adult expectorant for chesty coughs. Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help loosen mucus.
For oral use for adults, the elderly and children over 12 years of age:
Take 5ml - 10ml (one to two 5ml spoonfuls) at bedtime or at four hourly intervals.
Each 5ml of syrup contains Guaifenesin 100mg as the active ingredient.
Do not accept if the cap seal is broken.
Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Warning, do not take if:
You are allergic to gauifenesin of any of the other ingredients.
Each 5ml dose contains approximately 0.36g of sucrose, for this reason this medicine may not be suitable for those with rare hereditary intolerances of difficulties in the digestion of certain sugars (i.e. hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency).
Each 5ml dose contains approximately 1.1% (0.04g) of ethanol, therefore this medicine may not be suitable for patients with liver disease, alcoholism, epilepsy, brain injury or disease, in children or during pregnancy. It may also change the effect of other medicines.
If you take more than you should:
In the event of an overdose, seek medical advice from your doctor or to go to your nearest hospital casualty department. Remember to take the bottle of medicine with you.
If you forget to take dose:
If you miss a dose do not worry and take your next dose at the normal time. Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses.
Possible side effects:
Like medicines Guaifenesin may sometimes cause side effects, occasionally stomach discomfort has been reported. If you experience any side-effects, including any not mentioned above, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
